Disability-20 Presence at the G20 Social Summit

Disability-20 (D20) representatives attended the G20 Social Summit to ensure that the voices, priorities, and lived experiences of Persons with Disabilities were visible and meaningfully present in this global space.

Our presence was intentional, a unified expression that disability inclusion is essential to achieving genuine solidarity, equality, and sustainability within the G20 process. The Disability-20 delegates engaged with partners across sectors, reinforcing the message that global governance must fully recognise and include Persons with Disabilities.

A Significant Moment of Support

In a powerful development following the Disability-20 Conference, the Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities offered an additional expression of support by joining a Disability-20 side event held at Birchwood on 19 November 2025.

This gathering reinforced a shared commitment: to elevate disability inclusion within South Africa’s G20 legacy and to advance the recognition of Disability-20 as a formal engagement group within the G20 framework.

The G20 Social Summit and the Disability-20 side event reflect more than moments, they reflect a movement.
